Extreme Networks Certification Level

Extreme Networks Associate-Switching (ENA)

ENA certification expands upon your knowledge of the Extreme Networks switch product portfolio and confirms your ability to administer Extreme Networks switches in Layer 2 and Layer 3 environments. ENA certification is intended for individuals responsible for the installation, administration, basic configuration and basic management of Extreme Networks switches. Certifications are valid for 2 years.

Extreme Networks Specialist-Switching (ENS)

The pre-requisite for ENS certification is completion of the ENA certification level switching course or equivalent (must pass the ENA examination).
ENS level courses are designed for individuals responsible for advanced configuration, management maintenance and troubleshooting of Extreme Networks switches. ENS certification confirms your possession of a comprehensive set of networking skills.
Note: ENS-certified customers can bypass the Level 1 Technical Assistance Center (TAC) staff and go directly to Level 2 when contacting Extreme Networks for support. Certifications are valid for 2 years.

Extreme Networks Specialist-Wireless (ENS-W)

ENS-W certification confirms your advanced knowledge in installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Extreme Networks Summit WM series WLAN and AP. Together these wireless products make up the Extreme Networks wireless solution.

Extreme Networks Specialist-Data Center (ENS-DC)

An online ENS-Data Center certification exam is available to those individuals who have successfully completed Extreme Networks ENS or ENS-R certification and ECDP-DC certification. Additionally, data center 3rd party certifications from a Hypervisor and a Storage vendor are also suggested prerequisites:
Hypervisor: VMware – VCP level; Citrix – CCA for XenServer 5; Microsoft Hyper-V – MCTS server virtualization level; or an equivalent certification
Storage Systems: NetApp – NCDA level; EMC – ISM level, Dell EqualLogic training; or an equivalent certification
The ENS-DC examines knowledge of Data Center Bridging technologies, related IEEE standards, Multi-switch Link Aggregation Group (MLAG), Direct Attach™ architecture, XNV™ and VM mobility. Candidates must achieve a score of 75% or greater on the ENS-DC certification exam to be ENS-DC certified.

Extreme Networks Specialist-Automation (ENS-A)

An online ENS-Automation certification exam is available to those individuals who have successfully completed Extreme Networks ENS or ENS-R certification and ECDP-EE certification. Additionally, an automation 3rd party certification is also suggested as prerequisite:
Open Source Programming: O’Reilly’s – Open Source Python 1 Programming Certificate; or an equivalent certification
The ENS-A examines knowledge of CLI scripting, ACLs, Universal Port Profiles, Virtual Port Profiles, and TCL. Candidates must achieve a score of 75% or greater on the ENS-A certification exam to be ENS-A certified.

Juniper Certification Level

Juniper Networks Certification Program (JNCP) consists of Junos-based and platform-specific, multi-tiered tracks, which enable you to demonstrate competence with Juniper's technology in the areas most pertinent to your job function and experience.

Three Junos Certification Tracks:

  • Service Provider Routing and Switching: This track is for those working with infrastructure or access solutions in a Juniper Networks routing and/or switching end-to-end environment primarily within the telecommunications arena or a Fortune 100 Enterprise environment.
  • Enterprise Routing and Switching: This track is for those working in small through large Enterprise environments that install and support Juniper Networks technology-based networks in which LAN and WAN routers and switches reside.
  • Junos Security: This track is directed toward those who design and implement Juniper Networks secure networks.

For all three of the Junos Tracks above, the JNCIA-Junos is the prerequisite credential.

Here is the certification level:

JNCIA --> JNCIS --> JNCIP --> JNCIE
Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA)
The JNCIA verifies your basic understanding of Internet technology and related platform configuration and troubleshooting skills. For some tracks, passing the JNCIA exam is a requirement for attempting the JNCIS-level written exams. Consult each track for specific pre-requisite exam requirements.
Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS)
The JNCIS includes deeper product knowledge, as well as an understanding of Internet technologies and design principles considered to be common knowledge at the Specialist level. Passing the JNCIS written exam is a requirement for attempting the JNCIP-level exam.
Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP)
The JNCP validates your ability to configure and troubleshoot common networking scenarios. The exams are written and are a comprehensive validation of the candidate’s skills as they test on a broad range of theoretical and Junos topics. Passing the JNCIP exam is a requirement for attempting the JNCIE-level lab exam.
Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE)
The JNCIE certification provides you the opportunity to distinguish yourself among the elite of the networking world. The JNCIE is the highest level of certification in the Juniper Networks Certification Program and is a lab-based exam.
